Privacy Policy & Terms

How we collect, use, and protect your health and nutrition data.

Last updated: 6 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what NutriPlan collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have over your data. It applies to the NutriPlan mobile and web app ("we", "us", "our") operated by Fusion Wave.

Data we collect

Account details

When you sign up, we collect your email address and display name. This lets you create an account and sign in across devices. Account credentials are stored and managed by Firebase Authentication (Google). We may also collect your profile photo if you sign in with Google, Apple, or GitHub.

Body measurements health data

To calculate your personalised calorie and macronutrient targets we collect:

  • Gender, age, height, and current weight
  • Goal weight and weekly weight-loss rate
  • Activity level (sedentary to athlete)
  • Dietary preference (balanced, vegetarian, vegan, high-protein, low-carb)

These are classified as health-related data. We process them solely to provide the planning service you requested and do not share them for marketing.

Your meal plans

The weekly meal plans generated for you are saved so theyre available when you reopen the app or sign in on another device. Plans are linked only to your account.

Food photos & scan history

When you use the meal scanner, you take a photo which is sent to a third-party AI provider (Google Gemini, OpenRouter, or Groq) to estimate nutrition information. Estimated results — not the original photos — can be saved to your personal scan history.

Important: Avoid photographing faces, documents, or anything else private. Food photos are sent directly to the AI providers API and are subject to their retention policy, not ours. We do not store your photos on our own servers.

What we do not collect

NutriPlan does not collect your contacts, precise location, advertising identifiers, device identifiers for tracking, browsing activity, or any information from your devices other accounts. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics SDKs.

Security note: The AI API keys used by the food-scanner feature are embedded in the app binary during development. Before distribution, these should be moved server-side or injected at build time. If you are distributing a release build, ensure API keys are not exposed in a decompiled binary.

How we use your data

We use your data only to:

  • Create and display your personalised meal plans and nutrition targets
  • Authenticate your account and sync data across devices
  • Save your scan history so you can review past results
  • Improve the accuracy of estimates within the app

We never sell your data. We never use it for advertising. We never share your health data with third parties for their marketing.

Where your data is stored

Your account details, body measurements, meal plans, and scan history are stored in Google Cloud Firestore. Access is controlled by Firestore Security Rules, so only you — when signed into your own account — can read or write your records. Data may be processed in the region where your Firebase project is hosted.

Your rights & choices

You have full control over your data:

  • Access & edit — change your display name, email, or measurements anytime from the app settings
  • Export — email us (malikmuzamilmahmood47@gmail.com) to request a copy of your data
  • Delete — use Settings → Delete Account to permanently erase your authentication record, measurements, plans, and scan history
  • Withdraw consent — deleting your account removes all data we hold about you

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California), you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection regulator.

Children's privacy

NutriPlan is not intended for anyone under 16. Calorie-restriction and weight-loss tools are not appropriate for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16, and if we discover we have done so, we will delete that information immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for any material changes, notify you within the app. The effective date of this version is 6 August 2026.
